My husband loved this blogfest! Unfortunately, he's a man of little words. So, I've added some of my own in brackets.
1. What food or drink is guaranteed to return your loved one to a good mood, even after a bad day writing?
Coffee! (I think we all knew that. But my husband is kind enough to wake each morning at 6:30 and make me a pot... )
2. What one thing would you change about your others writing habits?
The way she burns through laptops. (I don't think that's exactly fair. I don't purposely ruin my laptops but how am I suppose to get newer and better models without breaking the old?)
3. How hard is it to sit by and watch someone you care for struggle to attain a dream...knowing there's very little you can do to help?
I wouldn't know because my wife is realizing her dream through brains and determination. (I didn't make this up. Seriously he wrote that. Hmm, I wonder what he wants...)
Now on another note:
I received the wonderful Versatile Blogger Award from Danette at There's a place I dream about... She has a wonderful site, please visit.
Some wonderful blog post this week:
- CN Nevets had an interesting post - An Anthropologist-Writer's View on Writers and Social Ethics - what a great discussion. Should a writer be allowed to portray folks from people of other cultures/races, or should they just write what they know? Should they take the N-word out of books? Should they be allowed to change what we write fifty or a hundred years from now? Does it skew history? Does skewing history really make things better?
- Also, because I'm in the middle of edits, I'm paying more attention to editing posts this week and loved the one by Elizabeth Spann Craig. Check out her post - Editing Made Easy.

I love this blogfest but I don't like not seeing the pics of the blogging partners ...
ReplyDeleteGreat to learn a little more about you! And fun to hear spouses weighing in! (And...yay for coffee:) )
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the mention, too!
Burns through laptops...hah!! Love that. My hubby can relate. I have no letters on my keyboard, anymore. Time to upgrade!
ReplyDeleteLOL. Short and sweet! What more do you need? :o)
ReplyDeleteClarissa, are you a computer killer?
ReplyDeleteDez, are you kidding? Do you know how long it took me just to put a picture of me up there? It'll be at least two more years before I can put my family up there.
ReplyDeleteAlex, I'll have you know that I happen to be VERY computer literate! However, I do suffer from must-up-grade-itus. To upgrade one must first find fault with the old technology. I like these excuses: My writing software is not compatible with last year's operating system; I can't be seen going on tour with this antiquated IPOD, must upgrade; Talli told me she loved her new Android phone and she's Canadian - must keep up with the Jones.
ReplyDeleteCoffee for me too, but I have to make mine. Are you sure killing laptops is not a new plot? :D
ReplyDeleteJules @ Trying To Get Over The Rainbow
He really gets right to the point, huh? Thanks for participating, was fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad someone else burns through laptops! I'm right there with you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking part! :)
Whoa - not blogfesting - my guy would not answer these questions. And that's OK with me! I love the last one - he sounds like a keeper. I think my guy thinks that but wouldn't share it with the blog world.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the award!
Thanks for linking to my post, Clarissa.
ReplyDeleteI feel you on the coffee, as well as on the laptops. When I got my first laptop as a young writer, I used to have to take into Radio Shack for a new keyboard all the time because I broke the space bar. All the time. lol
Sounds like a sweetie! Thanks for sharing, Clarissa. Have a fab weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh, your hubby sounds like a sweetheart.
ReplyDeleteHubby sounds adorable!!!! He makes you coffee!! That's lovely!!!
ReplyDeleteTake care
x
Aren't husbands wonderful :)
ReplyDeleteFor the most part - LOL. I say that with love.
Happy Weekend!
I'm crying foul! You totally coached him for those answers...didn't you?! Especially the last one. No way he came up with that on his own. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was really special having the two of you take part today and making the day so wonderful. Thank you!! :)
A lovely post - he sounds very special and this blogfest is a great way of learning a little more about The Writer.
ReplyDeleteMy spacebar on my new-ish laptop has never been the same since one of cats had a little play!
Another coffee lover. :) Wonderful post. He may be a man of few words, but they are powerful words.

Yay for your SO, loved his answers!
ReplyDeleteI like the one about lap tops. Mine is into how much my writing costs too.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the award.

Aww this was very sweet, especially the last answer! You've got a good one, Clarissa :-)
ReplyDeleteShort and to the point is good, especially on blogs. It sounds like you have a nice husband.
ReplyDeleteCoffee and laptops. Sounds like a good name for a book!
ReplyDeleteVery cute and he sounds supportive.
ReplyDeleteCoffee. Isn't that every writers friend?
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the award.
J
I loved reading his answers! Great post. :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the award!
The laptop thing was funny! LOL exactly- how are you supposed to get the new ones if the old ones don't die? lol great post!
ReplyDeleteBrains and determination! Wow! AND coffee every morning.
ReplyDeleteKeep that guy!
Computer violence is terrible thing, except when it guarantees a brand new one, ha ha!
ReplyDeleteCoffee! Must have coffee. And I burn through pens like there's no tomorrow.
ReplyDeletegood stuff--I was giggling at his short responses and your elaborations... :D "burns through laptops"... why didn't I think of that??? (oh, yeah, b/c then I'd have to do backups. :p <3
ReplyDeleteAw. What a great response to the last question!
ReplyDeleteHi Mr. D! I loved your responses (and Clarissa's additions). Burns through laptops. LOL.
ReplyDeleteMy significant other
This blogfest has been so much fun! I totally agree with you on the laptop thing!
ReplyDeleteGreat job, he is to the point and respects you!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Love this blogfest!
ReplyDeletethat is so sweet for him to make you coffee. I love that. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAw, what a sweetie, few words or not.
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing your responses to his! Congrats on the award too!
ReplyDeleteA man of few words but they were the right ones!
ReplyDeleteWhat a supportive hubby you've got! LOVE that last line of his.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the links. Always helpful to have those editing techniques reinforced and learn a few more tips. Your Hubby is sweet.
ReplyDeleteHi Clarissa .. as a woman of many words, perhaps Mr CD being a man of few words .. is a good thing - he seems to have his head on straight .. and by golly getting a pot of coffee at 6.30 am can't be bad! Enjoy the weekend .. Hilary
ReplyDeleteLoved hearing how you burn through laptops! That made me grin.
ReplyDeleteJai
This was funny/great, especially burning through laptops.
ReplyDeleteIf you have time between edits, there are a few more questions for you at my blog.
Havagoodweekend!
Denise :)
I'm glad to hear my love for getting a new laptop is not just me, haha.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have a good man there... Love getting to know you better! And cunning plan... destroy laptops in order to upgrade, hmmm.
ReplyDeleteAww, very nice. You responses were sweet too.
ReplyDeleteI just never imagined your interest in forensics stemmed from computer murder :) *sighs* I've have to wipe my little netbook twice in the 8 months? I've had it. You'd think the techy types could invent something to withstand a writers needs so we couldn't kill them so easily. :)
.......dhole
Hey, I'not that old LOL!. I just like music from a wide spectrum of eras. Good thing I didn't include my polka and yodeling favorites..
ReplyDeleteLoved your selection I knew most of yours which brought back happy memories.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit much appreciated/
Yvonne.
I loved your list. Some of them brought back instand memories. I'll have to go with Tommy James and The Sondells for "I Think We're Alone Now" as they are the original (I'm proabably a lot old than you.)
ReplyDeleteI'm really out of it with music, current music that is. My all time favorite: the Beatles. I like a great deal of music from the Sixties and Seventies.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I'm trying to learn Twitter. What happens when you click tweet this. Well, maybe I'll click and find out!
Hope you're having a good day. (BTW I love your grammar quizzes.)

Enya has a really beautiful voice, i contemplated putting Queen on my list bu MJ won out. :)
ReplyDeleteGood Ones!
ReplyDeleteI totally neglected the classic rock on my list.
This blogfest was the greatest idea. Too much fun.
ReplyDeleteLOVE these choices!! BNL are the best! And Queen .. and I'm singing along with Tiffany in my head! :)
ReplyDeleteI burn through computers too, but not hardly as fast as my husband. I think the computers are designed to break down just as a newer model is coming out. Probably not your fault at all. This was cute.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I missed yours!!!! I loved this blogfest! I was so happy when my husband said he would do it!!!
ReplyDeleteThe only song I can every think of by the Barenaked Ladies is One Week and I have a greatest hits album..lol
